Create an interactive map of sea level rise

This is how rising sea levels will affect America

Surely you have heard or read several times that by the year 2100 the sea level may rise from 3 to 4 meters, and even more, but do you know how this flood would affect different parts of the world? Until now, certainly, one could only guess; however, to this day we can use an interactive map to have a much clearer and more concise idea of what the earth will look like in a few years.

And not only that, but We will also be able to know to which area the ice that affects the coasts of some of the most important cities belonged in the world.

Scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory have developed a forecasting tool that predicts how the melting of the Greenland and Antarctic glaciers will affect a total of 293 port cities around the world. To do this, they applied their method "gradient footprint mapping" or GFM in its acronym in English, thus obtaining the graduated footprints for each location. The change in color reflects the rise in sea level that could be predicted for a specific area of Greenland and Antarctica.

It's a thaw map Very interesting, since it was made taking into account the disturbances in the gravitational force and the Earth's spin, as well as the effect that the locations of the drainage systems have in each city. Therefore, we can say that it is very, very reliable.

According to the map, we can see that the melting of Antarctica will affect the Latin American cities; glaciers in western Greenland will raise sea levels by Barcelona y Gibraltar; the northern and eastern parts of Greenland will affect New York and the melting of northwestern Greenland will raise sea levels by London, among others.
