5 awesome F5 tornado formations

Tornado

We like tornadoes. We see them on television in documentaries or on the news, and we want to see them live, but… it seems that for now we can only enjoy the most spectacular if we travel to the United States.

But do not worry. If you can't go for one reason or another, here we leave you with videos of 5 awesome F5 tornado formations.

And we will start, of course, with the "birth" of the tornado. These phenomena are the result of two totally opposite air masses (in the lower layers the air masses will be warm, while in the upper layers they will be cold), which cause the air currents to move in an upward spiral, thus giving rise to the twister. In this video of Brad Hannon you can see, in time-lapse, how the supercell is formed, the "progenitor" - if I may say so - of this phenomenon. It is simply awesome. It was recorded on June 3, 2003, in Booker (Texas).

Do you think if we get a little closer?

These guys from the well-known Discovery series Stormcatchers got really close. Well actually, a few more go inside, literally. The wind was blowing at over 220km / h. This video was recorded on June 17, 2009, in Aurora (United States).

And now, I throw you a question, what would you do if a tornado was coming?

Well, the most normal reaction would be to go out for legs, but if you like these things, you should know that you should not get closer than 2km. A distance less than that can put your life in serious danger. Still, the author of the video, Jeff Lechus, and his companions recorded this impressive tornado on May 20, 2013, in Moore, Oklahoma.

They also got very close:

You hear the man say "oh my God", "oh my God". It swallowed a house.

And we end with a spectacular video, where you can see the formation of a tornado from when it begins to leave the supercell until it touches the ground and finally dissolves.

Awesome, right?
