Throughout this time, we have talked about many types of rain. Of more common, of more atypical, and of specific and extraordinary events of these. From copious downpours, hail, electrical storms and also how they are formed, the whys, etc. But today we are going to talk about some very particular and different rains.
Like out of a scary movie, so unusual that many people doubt its existence. Even often those who have witnessed them cannot understand what they are seeing. Overwhelming and scary, we talk about red rains and those that fall animals from the sky. Both have a meteorological explanation, but so shocking, that one does not stop or think about it. Unraveling enigmas, that's what we're going to do today.
The rains of blood, the red water
Oddly enough, this reddish water is verified since the ancient times of the Roman Empire. The horror of those who have lived it, stupefied at the ignorance, this rain is not composed of blood even if it seems so.
The dust or sand that are kicked up when the wind blows with high intensity, and those who dyes the water this color. The strong wind pushes the clouds upwards until both the sand and water particles mix. This phenomenon, still and strange, finds its greatest frequency in Europe, by pushing the sand from Africa towards the neighboring continent.
If one day you see this red rain, we hope at least not to be a prisoner of fear. Or thinking that something bad is going to happen, which is still the most natural reaction we could have.
Fish and frogs falling from the sky
This phenomenon has been documented throughout the entire planet. As with red rain, it is innate for humans to be frightened by witnessing such horror. So unusual is it, that when the event is explained without going into detail, it is hard to believe. Perhaps explained by one person, it is something to ignore. But when large groups of people have seen it, and in all places, they cannot all be inventing the same story.
This rain, in which we see fish, frogs, snakes, and a few other animals fall, has its origin in the waterspouts. The strange thing about the event is when fall unexpectedly to the ground, and even at long distances from the water. These mysterious rains were described in 1919 by the American Charles Fort. "The Book of the Damned" becomes the first work to document these phenomena.
The fact that they fall great distances is because when waterspouts "absorb" large amounts of water, they remain in the clouds. The strong wind currents that have made it possible, similar to what happens with hail, they transport the animals. Finally, when the winds drop intensity, they fall from the clouds, leaving these bleak landscapes.
A curious fact about it is that when animals fall, they tend to be all of the same species.
It happened this Tuesday, September 26
Recent cases? This Tuesday 26 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. After the earthquakes, the activation of the Popocatépetl volcano and the cyclones, it seems that nature is determined not to give them a break. And when it seemed that nothing else could happen, or at least nothing different, fish fell from the sky. Occurred in a school in the Lomas de Rosales neighborhood, in Tampico.
The fact was confirmed and shared on the Facebook page of Civil Protection. Fast has been spreading through social networks. Citizens witnessed the event in the educational center, something very rare in the north of the country.
Strange meteorological phenomena, but not for that reason, impossible. Nature has at the end, the contrast of the wonderful, and the terrifying.
