In the last 15 years the human being has lived one of the most tragic stages in its history. The planet is so active that it generates a series of natural events that have killed millions of people since 2001. Tsunamis, hurricanes, droughts, and all kinds of phenomena have put and continue to test the adaptive capacity of The humanity.
If we talk about earthquakes, this is a shocking video created by the Tsunami Warning Center for the Pacific of the United States where it is shown all earthquakes that have occurred on Earth in the last 15 years.
In the video the intensity of the earthquakes are represented as flashes of different colors, the most intense being the representatives of those earthquakes that were stronger. As you can see, there is practically no region where an earthquake has not been recorded, but the most intense occurred in what is known as the Pacific Ring of Fire.
This zone extends over 40.000km, from the eastern coast of Asia and Australia, to the west coast of the Americas. Around 90% of earthquakes around the world occur in these regions as a consequence of the movement of tectonic plates.
But this does not mean that earthquakes do not occur in other parts of the planet. In fact, the continents are in constant motion due to the plates. What happens is that some of the most important subduction zones are concentrated in the Pacific Ring of Fire. For this reason, from time to time we receive the news of an earthquake that occurred in a country that is included in this Ring.
As we know, earthquakes are part of the planet. We have no choice but to adapt as best we can and prevent them from causing deaths.
