Do you want to do something that really helps fight climate change? One way to achieve your goal is simply by planting a tree. A single specimen can absorb between 10 and 30kg of carbon dioxide a year, which, although it is little, could be more if you create your own forest.
But of course, for that you need to have considerable land so one way to achieve it is by using the Spanish app called Reforestum.
Reforestum measures the carbon footprint of the activities you carry out daily and compares it with the carbon captured by the forest you have created on the platform. A forest that you can always have under control, observing the satellite images, the photographs and the notifications that will come to you. In addition, you can visit it if you wish, since the first real forest will be located in the Palencia mountain in an initial field of 4,6 hectares that will be replanted in the spring of 2017.
How do you create a forest? Doing so is very easy. You just have to access the web, where you will see that the price will be indicated, what it costs to maintain it, and the carbon it captures. Then, you can choose how many hectares you want it to be, the location, and finally click on »Create my forest» to proceed with the payment. And ready. You will already have your own forest.
Thus, no matter how small your forest is, you will contribute to effectively fight against climate change from home, either by accessing the web from your computer or from your mobile, at any time of the day.
We can all contribute our grain of sand to have a greener, more alive planet. We can all do something to prevent the effects of climate change from being severe.
