NASA's GOES-16 satellite sends the first high-resolution images of Earth

Planet Earth

We live in a world that, in our eyes, is huge; Not in vain, when we want to travel to another continent many times we have no choice but to catch the plane and stay inside it for a while. But the truth is that it is one of the smallest planets in the Universe. To give us an idea, Jupiter would fit 1000 planets Earth equal to ours, and the Sun 1 million.

But just because it's small doesn't mean it's not wonderful. In fact, so far it is the only one we know that harbors life, which has taken on many shapes and colors that make Earth unique (at least, so far). Now we have the opportunity to see it from a different perspective: from the one with NASA's GOES-16 satellite., which has sent some spectacular images.

Coast of africa

Africa

The dry air off the African coast seen in this incredible image can have an impact on the intensity and formation of tropical cyclones. Thanks to the GEOS-16, Meteorologists will be able to study how hurricanes intensify as they approach North America.

Argentina

South America

Image - NASA / NOAA

The sharpness of the image allows us to see the storm that was over Argentina at the time of capture.

The Caribbean and Florida

Who has not dreamed of going to the Caribbean and / or Florida? Meanwhile that day arrives, you can see it like never before; even shallow waters are observed.

United States Infrared Panels

Wind and temperature

Image - NASA / NOAA

In this image composed of 16 panels, the United States is seen in infrared, which help meteorologists distinguish between clouds, water vapor, smoke, ice and volcanic ash.

Luna

Moon and Earth

Image - NASA / NOAA

The satellite captured this beautiful image of the Moon as it circled our planet.
