54 degrees Celsius recorded in Iran

most extreme temperatures ever recorded

Global warming it is causing a rise in temperatures around the globe. Many places around the world are experiencing deadly heat waves and highs of temperatures so high that they have never been recorded before in history.

We are talking about southwestern Iran, in which maximum temperatures of up to 54 degrees Celsius have been reached in the city of Ahvaz, capital of the province of Khuzestan. This fact could be verified as a record temperature in that country in addition to being the highest temperature for a month of June in the entire Asian continent and, possibly, the highest temperature recorded since temperatures are measured.

Extreme temperatures

As we know, with global warming, temperatures are getting higher and heat waves more frequent and damaging. According to The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang weather blog, the high temperature data obtained was released by a MeteoFrance meteorologist, Etienne Kapikian. The meteorologist posted a tweet where he states that Ahvaz reached 53,7 degrees Celsius (128,7 degrees Fahrenheit). This is nothing more and nothing less than a new absolute national record. It is the highest temperature ever recorded in a month of June in the Asian continent.

Although this temperature was not actually the highest record reached, but rather at 4.51 local time, it reached 54 degrees. The web states that, due to the humidity, the index or sensation of heat was much more suffocating: 61,2 degree.

According to The Washington Post, if that figure is accurate and verified, we would be facing the hottest temperature ever documented on earth in modern times along with the 54 degrees experienced in Mitribah (Kuwait) in 2016 as well. As you can see, the temperatures they continue to increase due to global warming.
