Global warming will cause more storms in the United States

As the planet warms, the atmospheric balance is lost. Now, a study published in the scientific journal Nature Climate Change reveals that by the end of the century there will be more storms in the United States, which will cause more and worse floods that will put the lives of millions of people at risk.

And everything is due to pollution, deforestation, ... in short, the human impact on the environment.

In cities like Louisiana, Houston and West Virginia, extreme downpours will be three times more common by the end of the century, and six times more common in the Mississippi Delta regions. Because the air as it warms retains more humidity, so that the frequency of extreme precipitation in these regions will increase. Scientists point out that this increase has already begun, but the new study demonstrates the seriousness of the situation, having been carried out with stronger computer simulations.

Thanks to high definition computer simulation, which is about 25 times better than other computer models, specialists were able to know that there will be an increase of at least five times in precipitation on the Gulf Coast, the Atlantic coast and the southwestern United States.

Andreas Prein, lead author of the study and scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, indicated that the US will average a 180% increase in heavy downpours before the end of the century, with the least affected regions being the center-north and parts of the west coast.

Much stronger thunderstorms and rainfall are likely to occur in the future climate, which means in the future there could be a much greater potential for flooding. This can be quite an impact.
