Alicante has suffered heavy rains since Monday afternoon, which has caused car trailers with drivers inside, landslides and bilge by firefighters. Floods in Torrevieja
There have been 14 interventions due to heavy rains since 20.14:XNUMX p.m. on Monday, according to the Alicante Firefighters Federation. Four of the incidents occurred in Torrevieja due to the towing of a driver in the car, and three bilge water incidents occurred in the home. Many drivers were still in their cars at the time of the torrential rain, since the calls began in Torrevieja at 20:18 p.m.
With a car towed by water, the rest of the intervention was concentrated in La Algueña. Another two in Mutxamel due to detachment of cornices and clearing of public roads, Busot, due to bilge of garages, and Alcoi, due to detachment of rocks in the houses.
Likewise, firefighters intervened in La Nucia due to a leak in the pipes of the bathroom of a house; in Guardamar del Segura due to the flooding of garages. Currently, only material damages and losses to vehicles, public roads and some homes are unfortunate.
Widespread rainfall in Alicante
The storm recorded this Monday unloaded with "very strong intensity" in the southern province of Alicante, registering the Alicante-Elche airport 46,7 liters per square meter (l/m2) in 40 minutes, and in Crevillent there were several lightning strikes in area.
Likewise, the storm left 42,9 l/m2 in Aspe, 36,6 l/m2 in Elche Crevillent and 34,8 l/m2 in Vall d'Alba, the areas where the largest storms were recorded, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Although the province of Alicante had the most widespread rains, there were also storms in different parts of Castellón and Valencia on Monday afternoon.
