A map shows the polluted air we breathe

Environmental pollution

As the population increases, so does the demand for energy, which would not pose a serious problem for our health if we opted for renewable energy, but, as this is not the case, the air we breathe is not as clean as we could be. think.

The AirVisual portal has developed an interactive 3D map of the Earth where you can see the movements of pollution currents especially the countries of the world.

The map is very simple and intuitive to use. You can see the direction of the suspended particles, which are nothing more than solid and liquid particles caused by human activity, which is given by changes in air currents. These are also represented on the map.

You can expand it and click on a specific area to find out what levels of pollution are in that specific place. If it is a region marked in red, it means that very high levels have been reached at this point; On the other hand, if it is marked in blue, it means that the air is quite clean.

Breathing polluted air has health consequences. Among other consequences, if we are exposed to high levels we can have many problems, since contamination can:

  • Aggravate cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
  • Shorten life expectancy.
  • Cause accelerated aging of the lungs, thus increasing the risk of cancer.
  • Increase respiratory infections and diseases.
  • Cause eye problems.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 92% of the world's population breathes polluted air, which kills three million people each year. For this reason, it is very important to bet on renewable energies, which are much cleaner and more harmful. Otherwise, the number of deaths is likely to increase as the world's population increases.
